Q. I have applied for the CoE grant twice in the past and received it both times. However, the second time I applied from a Japanese language school, but I could not enter Japan due to the spread of the new coronavirus, so I returned it without using it. In this case, do I need to fill in only the first one in the "past application for Certificate of Eligibility" column?

A. This is "Application History," so please write down your entire application history.

Write the entire history of the application, regardless of whether it was granted or not, or whether it was used or not. In this case, please fill in both the first and second application.

If you have multiple application histories, tap the "Add" button to display the required amount of fields and enter them.

Q. I have visited Japan twice before as a tourist. In this case, should I fill in the "Application History for Certificate of Eligibility for Previous Visits"?

A. COE will not be issued for a short stay, such as for sightseeing, so do not enter anything in that case.
